Community Foundation backs Klingberg effort

The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain recently awarded $10,000 and a supply of reusable bags to Klingberg Family Centers to address the issue of food instability.

“As a community foundation with 80 years of history in this area, we are focused on supporting nonprofits that help lift up people in our community,” said David Obedzinski, CEO of the foundation.

“The Klingberg Family Center and its Family Pantry does just that.”

Founded in 1903, Klingberg Family Centers is a private, nonprofit multi-service agency providing help to thousands of persons across Connecticut each year through 20 distinct programs.

Klingberg Family Pantry opened in September of 2020 serving Klingberg client families and has distributed food for over 19,000 meals as of September 2021.
