Kensington Congregational welcomes new pastor

Kensington Congregational Church (KCC) is excited to announce the arrival of their new settled Senior Pastor, The Reverend Doctor Holly Norwick. After being in transition for quite some time, KCC and Pastor Norwick embark on a new journey of ministry together, here in Berlin.

“I am so excited to begin my next chapter with KCC! After a such a tumultuous time for pastors and churches during COVID, finding a congregation that is eager and ready to move boldly into the future together makes for endless possibilities,” Norwick said.

Norwick has been a United Church of Christ minister since 2008. She has served several churches across Massachusetts, and recently finished a two-year tenure as Senior Pastor for a church in Hawaii that she led through COVID, remotely.

Norwick received her Baccalaureate Degree from Mount Holyoke College, her Master of Divinity Degree from Harvard Divinity School, and her Doctor of Ministry Degree from Andover Newton Theological School.

Kensington Congregational Church’s new pastor spent her childhood in a small town in Minnesota. She graduated high school at 17 and moved to Hawaii, by herself, where she spent many of her formative years.

Norwick joined the Honolulu Police Department and worked for the Criminal Investigations, CrimeStoppers Unit. After retiring from the police department in 2006, she relocated to the east coast, following God’s call to parish ministry.

Norwick also has a background in technology and media, which has allowed her to work with local media outlets and has brought more than one church to the virtual world and to local television.

“My children and I are eager to integrate into the community and enjoy all that this beautiful area has to offer,” Norwick said. “In just my short couple of weeks here at KCC, we have already begun exciting plans to strengthen our ties with the community, be of service where there is need, and offer a safe place for all people to come and be part of the KCC family.”

Kensington Congregational Church offers Sunday worship at 10 a.m., both in person and live on Facebook (Kensington Congregational Church).

Pastor Norwick is eager to get to know her new neighbors and invites anyone who wishes to grab a cup of coffee to reach out: “Just give me, or the church office a call, and let’s grab a cup and get to know each other.”
