Berlin Lions deliver for town libraries

Lions clubs have long identified the importance of literacy in our communities.

This year, the Berlin Lions Club was one of many local clubs participating in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Book Drive. The aim of the drive was to provide books to local libraries.

Primarily for elementary school students, the books have African American or Latino themes and are written by African American or Latino authors.

The goal was to add to library collections promoting inclusion and diversity.

Through the Berlin Lions’ fundraising effort, 110 books were purchased for Berlin-Peck Memorial Library, the Worthington Free Library and the East Berlin Library.

The Berlin Lions hope these books will serve the community well, for a long time.
