BERLIN — A local man faces charges after police said he stole a car from a gas station early Monday.

Ryan Callinan, age unknown, of 34 Pleasant Ave., was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree unlawful restraint, and second-degree larceny.

At around 1 a.m. police received a report that a car and personal belongings were stolen in an armed robbery at the Citgo gas station, 1289 Farmington Ave.

An officer responding to the call saw a vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle turn on Pleasant Avenue, Deputy Police Chief Chris Ciuci said. Callinan was driving the stolen car and in possession of the person’s belongings. He was taken into custody and held on $150,000 bond.
