Redcoat Review is tops, once again

For the second straight year, Berlin High School’s student newspaper The Redcoat Review earned a first-place award in the American Scholastic Press Association’s newspaper competition.

The Redcoat Review publishes four times a year and covers school, community and national events.

BHS submitted its first two issues of the school year to the national contest, and The Redcoat Review earned 905 total points out of a possible 1,000.

“You have an excellent school newspaper, which shows the creativity and journalistic knowledge of your editors, reporters, writers, photographers … and advisor(s),” an ASPA judge wrote.

Approximately 35 students comprise the staff of the Redcoat Review, which is run as a BHS club under the guidance of advisors Rachel Rice, Donielle Joslyn and Lauren Masterson.

The Redcoat Review is distributed electronically through the school’s content management system, Schoology.
