The Town of Berlin and local businesses have teamed up on a new endeavor: FALL Back In Love With Shopping Berlin.
Spearheaded by business owners from Dragonfly Home & Gift and Dynasty Jewelers, FALL Back In Love With Shopping Berlin became a reality with help from Economic Development Director Chris Edge.
While most businesses have re-opened, many are struggling, as customer traffic has been slow to return.
This is why the FALL Back In Love With Shopping Berlin effort is so vital to local businesses.
It works like this: A customer comes into a participating Berlin business and purchases an amount of goods or services, totaling, say, $31.24. The customer would receive $3 in Berlin Bucks, which can be used at the business where they were received.
FALL Back In Love With Shopping Berlin began Oct. 1 and runs through the end of the month. Berlin Bucks can be redeemed until end of business on Sunday, Nov. 15.
This effort, done in coordination with The Berlin Citizen, will help our small businesses bring new customers to their door and remind existing customers of their great products and services.
“We want customers to feel safe and fall back in love with shopping Berlin again,” stated Tracy Shipman, owner of Dragonfly Home & Gift.
“Shopping small is a much more controlled environment than at a big box. With a smaller amount of customers at a time in local shops, there is less contact with others, as well as cleanlier facilities, typically. You can stay safe and still support the local economy.”
