Garden club’s ranks grow

Kensington Garden Club is pleased to welcome three new members: Carol Gooden of Berlin, Mary Frazeur of Wethersfield, and Ann Burgoyne of Cromwell. The installments occurred on Sept 17, during the club’s first virtual program. Immediately following the meeting, the club offered a free program to the public entitled Successful Hydrangeas. The program was well-attended, drawing 109 participants.

The next free virtual program – Myths, Lies and All the Latest Dirt – will be held Thursday, Oct 15, 7 p.m. The program will offer gardening tips and debunk long-cherished practices. Pre-registration is required on the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library website.

Through the generosity of members and the public’s fundraising support, the club, organized in 1955, is able to carry out its mission, which includes supporting civic beautification projects, improving public spaces, awarding an annual scholarship, and so much more.

Consider supporting the club’s current bulb sale. Call Donna at 860-521-5278 or Eloise at 860-828-3979. All profits go back to the community.

New members are always welcome. Contact the club via its Facebook page or kensingtongardenclub.net.
