Curbside leaf collection underway

[Error loading the control 'GN4_BL', check event log for more details]

The Berlin Public Works Department’s curbside leaf collection begins Monday, Nov. 1. Leaves will be picked up during the weeks of Nov. 1 to 5, Nov. 15 to 19, and Nov. 29 to Dec. 3. Residents wishing to have leaves removed must put them in biodegradable brown paper bags and place them at the curb on their regular trash day. Plastic bags are not permitted. Keep all leaf bags well away from your automated trash container. Grass clippings, yard waste and twigs cannot be mixed with leaves. Do not rake leaves into the gutter; this is a violation of the anti-litter ordinance.

Leaves also may be disposed of at the Transfer Station, 19 Town Farm Lane (off Massirio drive), Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the following Saturdays: Oct. 30; Nov. 6, 13, 20 and 27; and Dec. 4 and 11. All bags and containers must be emptied and removed from the drop-off area.

The Transfer Station will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25 and Friday, Nov. 26 in observance of Thanksgiving.
