Berlin “has received a limited supply” of N95 protective masks and is distributing them to residents “until the supply is exhausted.”
“Those who need masks can pick them up at the Berlin Senior Center, Berlin-Peck Memorial Library or Town Hall in the Town Clerk’s and Town Manager’s offices during regular business hours,” a Jan. 13 social media post from the town states.
There is a four-mask limit per household.
N95 masks are designed to form a seal around the nose and mouth, creating efficient filtration of airborne particles. As the Omicron variant of COVID-19 continues to swirl through the U.S., various news outlets have reported that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is considering updating its guidance to recommend people opt for N95 or KN95 masks over other face-coverings.
