The Republican majority on the Police Commission, through a contrived process, irresponsibly rushed vetting and voted to hire out-of-town for police chief, ignoring a highly-qualified 27-year veteran of the department endorsed by the union. Why not promote from within? Why disregard a well-respected, admired deputy chief that intimately knows the town? What’s the rush? They’ve only raised more questions than answers. Law enforcement is in the spotlight more than ever and we must have the backs of Berlin’s finest. Support Berlin police officers by voting to restore integrity.
Elect Melissa Urrunaga and Peter Zarabozo on Nov. 2.
