Led by match medalist Kenna Roman, the Berlin High School girls golf team carded a 337 and claimed its second straight CIAC Division II state championship Monday, June 5 at Tashua Knolls in Trumbull.
The Lady Redcoats didn’t lose a single match this spring, and topped their nearest DII competition, St. Paul, by 40 strokes. Roman’s 78 on Monday was three strokes ahead of the runner-up. Berlin’s Samantha Dunn tied for third with an 82, and Libby Dunn shot an 86 to claim seventh place.
Berlin’s championship contingent also included Charley Carlson (91) and Molly Szczesniak (96).
