It’s back-to-back state titles for Berlin

Led by match medalist Kenna Roman, the Berlin High School girls golf team carded a 337 and claimed its second straight CIAC Division II state championship Monday, June 5 at Tashua Knolls in Trumbull.

The Lady Redcoats didn’t lose a single match this spring, and topped their nearest DII competition, St. Paul, by 40 strokes. Roman’s 78 on Monday was three strokes ahead of the runner-up. Berlin’s Samantha Dunn tied for third with an 82, and Libby Dunn shot an 86 to claim seventh place.

Berlin’s championship contingent also included Charley Carlson (91) and Molly Szczesniak (96).

Berlin is coached by Jim Barnes.
