CHESHIRE — Police are searching for a prisoner who escaped from custody at MidState Medical Center in Meriden on Wednesday.
Cheshire police arrested Michael Vincent Zimmitti Wednesday on a warrant for larceny of a motor vehicle and illegal use of a payment card. His bond was set at $100,000.
While at MidState Medical Center receiving treatment, Zimmitti escaped from custody and is still at large, police said.
Zimmitti, 29, is five feet, nine inches tall, 130 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair.
Cheshire Police are preparing an arrest affidavit for escape from custody. Zimmitti also has an outstanding warrant out of Meriden for third degree robbery, second-degree breach of peace and criminal attempt to commit larceny in the fifth degree, police said.
