The American Red Cross held a blood drive at the Cheshire Masonic Temple Lodge in Cheshire on Friday.

Due to COVID-19, the Red Cross has set up new safety protocols for donors and staff at each location. Donors must sign up for a time slot on the American Red Cross website.

Time slots are every 15 minutes and each location can only take a certain number of donors. The Masonic Temple location was set up to take up to four donors at a time to ensure social distancing.

Red Cross staff and volunteers have a standard staff health assessment at the beginning of the drive.  All staff wears a basic face covering and change their gloves frequently. They also wipe down each location after each donor. Go to www.redcrossblood.org/ for more information on were to donate blood.
