Boba or Bubble Tea is a sweet and refreshing beverage that should be on your radar for the warm months ahead.

Here are a few local places to check out:

The Hot Pot, 970 N. Colony Rd. Wallingford

The Hot Pot offers delicious bubble tea flavors and has the most interesting way to mix it. The bottle is secured onto a device that shakes the tea up and down at rapid speed until thoroughly mixed. This bubble tea was the creamiest out of all the spots listed and also the only spot to offer a watermelon flavor. With the hot food that is served, it is the perfect pairing to cool your mouth down.

The Pho Bar, 224 Berlin Turnpike, Berlin

This new restaurant in Berlin, CT. serves giant bowls of pho and beautifully colored bubble tea drinks. There are seven different types to choose from including Butterfly Tea. It is a mystical purple color and a splash of lemonade is added. This was the only restaurant to offer butterfly tea among those listed. In addition to the colorful drinks, there is also a big greenery wall that allows for the most instagram-worthy pictures!

Kiwi Spoon956 N. Colony Rd, Wallingford

While Kiwi Spoon may be known for its frozen yogurt, be sure not to miss out on its bubble tea as well. The coconut flavor is refreshing and milky. The boba is chewy as it gets sucked up through the wide straw. Kiwi Spoon might have been a special occasion spot for some, but once you try their bubble tea, it will become a regular spot.

Wild Orchid Thai Cuisine, 56 Center St. Southington

Among the bustling restaurant strip in Southington, sits Wild Orchid. This restaurant had been closed for a while due to the pandemic but has recently reopened its doors. Wild Orchid offers many flavors of bubble tea and is thinner in consistency than the other spots mentioned. The best part is there is outdoor seating to enjoy the lovely spring weather while slurping down a delicious bubble tea!
