“I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!” It’s that time of year again — the days are getting warmer and it’s time to indulge in a favorite sweet treat. Here are four places to check out for some killer cones (and sundaes)!

Les’ Dairy Bar, 654 E. Main St. Meriden

There couldn't be an ice cream list without Les’ on it! Les’ is a Meriden staple serving soft serve ice cream and milkshakes. Enjoy fan favorites like Blue Goo or the Peanut Butter Parfait. Now under new ownership, Les’ is back open for the season and the line that forms every weekend proves just how good it is. With more events popping up like school musicals and sports games, it’s the perfect place to stop by afterwards to put the cherry on top of your day.

Banana’s Ice Cream, 1122 N. Colony Rd. Wallingford

Formerly known as “Praline’s,” there’s a sense of nostalgia when walking into Banana’s Ice Cream. Many of you have probably been to a birthday party or other function hosted at this ice cream shop. With its cute cow decor and delicious flavors, there is something for everyone to enjoy! While there is no eating inside the shop, there are picnic tables outside to enjoy the ice cream with friends and family.

Sweet Claude’s Ice Cream, 828 S. Main St. Cheshire

While classics like vanilla and chocolate are offered, Sweet Claude’s specialty ice creams are especially delicious. These cones are loaded with big chunks of toppings. Featured here are the Salty Pretzel and Mint Chocolate Chip ice creams. Both are creamy and filled with whole chunks of chocolate chips and mini pretzels. And, can you believe these were the kids sized portions? Sweet Claude’s is generous when it comes to filling the cone! Kids aren’t the only ones who love ice cream. For those adults out there looking for something a little different, Sweet Claude’s also offers a Bailey’s Irish Cream flavor, too.

Main Street Creamery & Cafe, 271 Main St. Wethersfield

Main Street Creamery is located in this gorgeous section of Wethersfield complete with park benches and green grass to sit and enjoy a lovely cone. Maybe even a picnic lunch too! Main Street Creamery is always offering new and improved flavors of not only ice cream, but also whipped cream and ice cream sandwiches. Previous specials have included lavender whipped cream, Unicorn Delight Ice Cream, and Churro Cookie Sandwiches, just to name a few. Main Street Creamery also offers “Ice Cream of the Month” flavors. There is something new to try every time you go!
