My son, Ethan Watrous, is a 12-year-old who found quarantine to be quite difficult. I brought out my acrylic paints and found some rocks lying around and showed him how he could paint them. He was immediately obsessed.
One evening when painting rocks together, I had mentioned how I felt sorry for the graduating seniors (I am currently a teacher at Sheehan High School in Wallingford). Ethan had the idea of painting a rock for each graduating senior at Sheehan. After weeks of working on his project, he finally finished and we put out the rocks at the school. We posted on facebook that seniors are welcome to bring their rock home with them if they wish.
