The Barnes Museum is excited to announce the opening of its new exhibition, “Thread Through Time - A Timeline of Fashion in Southington”. Spanning over a century of looks, the exhibit will display garments worn by Southington residents between 1840-1970. Explore fashion history through the accessories, garments, and shoes that defined fashionable attire for their respective decades throughout Southington’s evolution. Great for fashion lovers of all ages, this is the first time the Barnes Museum textile collection will be on full display!
Exhibit located at 85 North Main St., Southington. The exhibition opens Sept. 26 and runs until Nov. 7. Open for drop-in tours every Wednesday – Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. The last tour kicks off at 4 p.m. Open during Apple Harvest Festival Friday, Sept. 30, Saturday, Oct. 1, Friday Oct. 7, and Saturday, Oct. 8.
