Chrysanthemum Kit

Children ages 6-12 years can join Miss Carlye in creating a paper Chrysanthemum! RSVP and then call us at 860-628-0947 ext. 3 to schedule a pick-up time! The corresponding video will air on the Southington Kids’ Place Facebook Page and the Southington Public Library Youtube page at 11 a.m. on Nov. 20. Registration opened one week before the program date on Nov. 13. If registration is full, or if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to give us a call. If you do not pick up your craft kit by the end of Nov. 20, your unclaimed kit will be given to the next child on the waitlist.

Girls Who Code

Saturdays, starting Nov. 25, at 9:30 a.m.

Girls in grades 5-7 are invited to our new Girls Who Code club! This club is being put on in partnership with the Southington CyberKnights and the Southington Public Library.

Together, we’ll learn to code by doing hands-on projects and self-guided coding tutorials. We’ll also learn about inspiring female role models working in a variety of sectors (medicine, art, music, government, and more). 

PLEASE NOTE: Participants must bring their own laptop for these classes. This program runs for four weeks, starting Nov. 25, and continuing Dec. 2, 9, and 16, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Southington Public Library. Your child must be able to attend all 4 classes. Space is limited and registration is required.

Registration opens one week before the event on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 9 a.m. The event will appear full until after 9 a.m. on Nov. 18.

Character Craft: Pete the Cat

Wednesday, Nov. 29,  11 a.m. (Virtual)

Children ages 18 months to 4 years old can enjoy a song, an age-appropriate craft, some activities, and a book or two from your favorite book characters with Ms. Sarah, all from the comfort of your own home! Our character for the Nov. program is Pete the Cat! Supplies are limited and registration is required. RSVP and then call us to schedule a pick-up time for your kit! Registration opens Nov. 22. The accompanying storytime video will go live on Nov. 29 at 11 a.m. on the Southington Kids’ Place Facebook and the Southington Library YouTube page, and will remain available indefinitely following the scheduled premiere time.
