On Sunday, July 17, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Meriden presented this year’s Jeffrey T. Marshall Scholarship to Fiona Byers, Ethan Dudley and Jacob Flinchbaugh.
Fiona Byers graduated from Cheshire High School this year and plans to attend Pace University in New York City majoring in communications and media studies.
Ethan Dudley, who graduated from Platt High School, will be a senior at Western New England University in Springfield, where he plans to earn a degree in finance.
Jacob Flinchbaugh, who was home-schooled for high school, plans to attend Clark University in Worcester, where he plans to major in history.
This scholarship was established at St. Andrew’s Church as a lasting tribute to Jeffrey Marshall who lost his four-year battle with cancer at the age of 20 in 1987. It is awarded to students who are part of the St. Andrew’s Church family and who have contributed in a meaningful manner to the church, their community or school and who capture the legacy Jeff left behind – concern for others, gratitude for life’s opportunities and the value of friends and family.
