Currently, 1 in 4 dying Americans are Veterans. AccentCare Hospice & Palliative Care of CT and The Village Kensington Place in Meriden, honored our Fallen Heroes with a Memorial Day Ceremony at The Village at Kensington Place.
As the Fallen Heroes were celebrated, The Village residents joined in singing America, the Beautiful with 14-year-old Charlize Pelletier, who led the music for the program.
Commander James Marut of the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 189 and his wife, Fatima, Past Madam President of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 189 raised the flag and laid the wreath to rest at the base of the flag. AccentCare Hospice staff member Andie Mackey read a poignant poem entitled “Because of the Brave.” The ceremony was yesterday at noon.
