The Stats for RALLY-2019 have been compiled and revealed to announce: Missy is the #1 Top Dog in the U.S.A., and is the #1 Top Shetland Sheepdog in the U.S.A.  and also is the #1 Top Herding Dog in the U.S.A.

Missy, a Shetland Sheepdog, 4-years of age is owned, trained and shown exclusively by Wallingford resident, Linda Houle.

This is their story: I have been grooming, training, showing Shelties, my favorite breed, for 45 years and Missy is my 10th Sheltie and has a big brother, Spike.  My Shelties have traveled extensively in the United States and  Canada  and have done Pet Therapy Visitations at Nursing Homes for 11 years, won many photo contests, were featured in several newspapers and magazines, were in a TV commercial, and were filmed in New Jersey for a Pet Therapy Video, in addition to the many AKC and CKC Titles they have earned, while placing first and being Top Dogs.

Missy started her training on day one, the very day I got her – all by herself. There was a set of four agility jumps in succession in my backyard, for training with Spike, and out of nowhere Missy went sailing over all four agility jumps on her own, as if she was a real pro at it. What a shock and surprise for me to see my little six-week-old Sheltie do this.  I knew then that Missy was destined for the show ring.  Missy’s obedience, rally and agility training then began.  She became a copycat, wanting to do everything her brother Spike did.

Missy is a very happy go lucky Sheltie, eager to learn new things and absorbs them quickly. Missy has always been a high-energy, fast moving Sheltie who loves to run and gets to strut her stuff competing in the Master Level of Agility and runs the 100-yard dash in Fast CAT where she is working toward her DCAT title.

Missy was the fourth Shetland Sheepdog in the United States of America to earn the RACH Title on April 7, 2019 and within six months achieved RACH2 on Oct. 11, 2019.  We were working toward earning RACH3 Title, however, all Dog Shows are currently on hold due to the COVID-19 Crisis.

My furry best friend, Missy, and I enjoy traveling extensively throughout the United States.  In March, 2019 we traveled to Tulsa, OK for the AKC Rally National Championship, in which Missy competed in the first ever Championship Class that AKC offered due to the new RACH Title.  TEAM MISSY has also traveled to MA, NH, NY, NJ, VT, and looking forward to traveling to Missy’s second AKC Rally National Championship this December in Orlando, FL unless it gets postponed.

I cannot say enough about Missy, and all she has accomplished beyond any of my expectations, especially having eared these three most prestigious acheivements.

A handler might only dream of being acknowledged for his/her dog’s many spectacular performances, yet Missy caused this dream to be a “Dream Come True”!
