The CT Tigers Performed Virtually at Winter Guard International World Championships

The Connecticut Tigers Winter Guard performed virtually on the world stage at Winter Guard International World Championships on April 17. The group pre-recorded their performance via Zoom to the song “You Will Be Found” from the Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen and the virtual program was submitted to the Championships.

The CT Tigers are an independent color guard for performers with special needs who come from central and southern Connecticut and range in age from their teens to adult. The Tigers are mentored by “buddies” who are students and alumni of local high schools and colleges, including Amity High School, Cheshire High School, Lyman Hall High School, and Trumbull High School.

The ensemble has performed across the Northeast at regional championships, NCAA halftime shows, and the Special Olympics of CT Opening Ceremony. Their 2021 season was done completely online including virtual rehearsals and performances.

Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES) has proudly supported the Tigers during their 16 seasons competing. Erika Forte, Director of CT Tigers said, “The virtual 16th season was challenging but so fun! ACES’ constant support made this season possible. The CT Tigers have 8 former ACES students and several current individuals on the team.”
