Wilcox Tech Service Project Supports Meriden Soup Kitchen

Throughout the month of May, members of H.C. Wilcox Technical High School National Honor Society (NHS) chapter collected 1,607 items for the Meriden Soup Kitchen.

The collection took place through a friendly trade vs. trade competition. The Information Technology trade collected the most items totaling 871. This total included 23 cases of water and lots of canned goods.

“Being able to have the opportunity to donate to the Meriden Soup Kitchen was great,” said Luke Frommelt, a junior and a member of NHS. “Seeing all the shops competing and helping out their community was inspiring and made me glad to be a part of the National Honor Society. So many students donated, which was something I was amazed by when collecting all the donations.”

This was just one of the service projects the NHS members at H.C. Wilcox Technical participated in this year. If you would like to suggest another service project for the H.C. Wilcox Tech NHS contact, Marisa Vittorio at Marisa.Vittorio@cttech.org or Alecia Walkuski at Alecia.Walkuski@cttech.org.
