On May 21 at Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School in Danvers, Mass., Elliana Rexinger-McConnell of Plainville, Connecticut, became the all-time leader in Connecticut for 13U girls with a throw of 89’8.75” — breaking the previous record by almost three feet. Elliana has been throwing discus and shotput for two years now and has just started working with the javelin, hammer, and weight throw.
She is currently in seventh grade at Middle School of Plainville and is part of the track and field team and works with a personal throwing coach. She is currently competing and training in preparation for her second year of Junior Olympics being held in Des Moines, Iowa at the end of July.
