Choate Students Send Letters to Lift Gaylord Patients' Spirits

Four Choate Juniors from the class of 2021 including Sarina Kapoor, Emily Cha, Sebastian Jimenez, and Lulu Louchheim recently wrote and sent letters of hope and inspirational photography to cheer up patients recovering from serious injuries or illnesses at Gaylord Specialty Healthcare.

Student Sarina Kapoor said that Dr. Stephen Siperstein first introduced the idea of engaging in a group project to spread positivity and hope outside of the Choate community as a part of the group’s Environmental Immersion Program.

“After considering Choate’s role in Wallingford and the way we are accepted and welcomed into this community, we decided to give back to the town.” Kapoor said that the four students all worked on different messages to lift the spirits of patients unable to receive visitors due to restrictions.

“I am incredibly proud of my groupmates for contributing hopeful and inspiring pieces of writing and photography, and I hope the positivity continues to spread through other communities,” she said.
