Resilient Training Lab, a newly established group of strength coaches and physical therapists, was put to the ultimate test with the COVID-19 crisis. Without access to Revolution Fitness Clubs, the 12,000 square foot fitness facility in North Haven, Paul Milano and his coaches had to act quickly in order to support their clients.
As facilities around the state shut their doors, Resilient Training Lab was able to transition all clients to at-home workouts and keep everyone connected and active, despite the lack of access to equipment.
These transitions included providing new customized programming to every client’s needs and at-home equipment, lending out strength equipment, online classes, facetime calls, a step challenge, and a newly established book club to help relieve stress. They also took community action, hosting food drives for local food banks and were able to collect over 750 lbs of food for the New Haven Inner City Enrichment (NICE) Center and raised over $1000 for the United Way of Greater New Haven Pantry to Pantry program.
The COVID-19 pandemic hit all of us hard but it was amazing to see the members of RTL rally around each other to help those in need in any way possible. Resilient Training Lab was created around the idea of creating a strong community and this situation showed just why that is so important to us” Paul Milano.”
Even as a relatively new business, Resilient Training Lab has many recent initiatives and accomplishments, including: Hosting free virtual and in-person seminars to educate viewers on nutrition, fitness, and strength training; Creating an app with habit building programs to help their clients reach their goals; Creating a blog and podcast with the latest news and information; Hiring two additional coaches to the coaching staff with future plans to expand; Donating to Campaign Zero and the ACLU with proceeds from apparel sales; Being the #1 choice of several elite athletes from the powerlifting and strongman arenas.
“Resilience is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness, and this pandemic made us live up to our name.”
