3 music venues to check out this summer

If you’re looking for the soundtrack to your summer with a little extra added fun, Connecticut’s music scene will help you get your groove on — check out these local music venues for an above average concert experience.

Meriden Green, 77 State St., Meriden

An excellent local (and free) venue for live music is the Meriden Green’s Amphitheater. This summer, the annual Meriden Twilight Concerts Series returns for another fabulous season of concerts you won’t want to miss. These evenings also feature local craft vendors, food trucks and family fun for the whole community in an up-beat, laid back environment that features something for everyone. Upcoming Meriden Twilight Concerts Series dates include June 18 and 24 and continue throughout the summer.

Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater, 500 Broad St., Bridgeport

A newer music venue that Connecticut is proud to boast is the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater. This addition to the Bridgeport community is an absolute experience. From the local food and drink options featured to the attention to detail, the glitz of a newer venue is undeniable – granite and stone details dazzle, twinkle lights gleam and guests from far and wide are welcome to explore the newest pride of Bridgeport!

Xfinity Theatre, 61 Savitt Way, Hartford

The Xfinity Theatre is a true Connecticut Classic. This indoor/outdoor amphitheater is one of the largest in the country, and has hosted hundreds of iconic acts over the years. While the venue’s in house concessions area gives off a light-hearted, almost fairground-esque vibe, the most unique feature of the Xfinity is their “lawn seat” ticket options. For summer shows, purchasing a “lawn seat” ticket adds a layer of spontaneity to your show experience that you’d otherwise miss with assigned spots. The venue has an expansive greenery that surrounds the stage, and this option is ideal for larger friend groups who can purchase their tickets at different times yet never worry if they’ll be able to enjoy the show together — it’s essentially a free-for-all! Grab some drinks, grab your friends and grab a seat on the lawn.

This summer, there are so many incredible opportunities to catch not only live music, but a whole night of fun! Whether you stay local or take a mini day trip for the occasion, live music experiences are just waiting to be had/
