Support Meriden non-profit by shopping at Berlin store

BERLIN — Time is running short to find just the right present for Mother’s Day, but Good Cause Gifts says not to worry. “We have a great gift for every mom, stepmom, grandma or gigi,” said Sabrina Rogers, merchandise manager at the Berlin shop.

This Friday, May 5, from 4 to 7 p.m., a portion of the proceeds from purchases at Good Cause Gifts will support Kuhn Employment Opportunities. A Meriden-based non-profit, Kuhn helps local people with disabilities find and retain employment.

One place where disabled residents find fulfilling work is at Good Cause Gifts, a non-profit enterprise with three stores in Connecticut. The Good Cause Gifts in Berlin, 384 Main St., was the first of the three to open, and has been in operation for more than a decade. The business is easy to find; it’s the one with the “Greetings from Berlin, Connecticut” mural painted on one side.

With Mother’s Day on the horizon, Sabrina Rogers said this is a busy time of year for the store. As for merchandise, she said, “We have items ranging from mugs and candles to Bogg bags or Sea bags, as well as gardening items, throw pillows and a lovely new collection of spring clothes.”

Those unable to shop at Good Cause Gifts this Friday can still support Kuhn Employment Opportunities by shopping online that day at goodcausegifts.org. Write “Kuhn” in the comment box at checkout.
