MERIDEN — The Meriden Senior Center, at 22 W. Main St., will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 28, for a full boiler system replacement. The City is anticipating the center will be closed through the rest of the year, according to a press release.

Senior Center staff will be relocated to the second floor of the Health and Human Services main building, at 165 Miller St. Office hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Staff and services will be operating much like when the center was closed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mini-bus transportation services will still be provided for medical appointments and group shopping trips. Staff is in the process of arranging for frozen meal delivery, and is working with the Meriden Public Library to relocate some recreation events. Regularly scheduled recreation activities, such as ceramics, art and exercise classes, will be temporarily suspended.

The social services worker and the community services worker will still be taking appointments, with clients to be seen in person at 165 Miller St.

It is unknown how long the boiler system replacement will take place.
