MERIDEN — Police are investigating notes found on Old Colony Road which advocated violence against police officers.

The police department received several complaints about the notes found on the ground along Old Colony Road on Tuesday, Lt. Cody Kroeber said. The messages varied but all advocated violent acts against officers.

Kroeber said some of the notes were found near a school bus stop. All of the notes were found scattered on the ground.

“Obviously they carry a disturbing message,” Kroeber said. “We support the First Amendment right to free speech.”

Kroeber said police would like to speak with whoever wrote the notes. No other information about the incident was immediately available.
