Meriden police identify victim in homicide on Allen Avenue

MERIDEN — Police identified the victim of the fatal shooting on Sunday as 32-year-old Francisco Huertas.

Huertas, address unknown, was fatally shot at a home on Allen Avenue Sunday.

“We send our condolences to the family and are committed to solving this homicide,” Lt. John Mennone said Tuesday. 

Police responded to the area of 107 and 115 Allen Ave. on Sunday around 11:43 a.m. for a report of shots fired. Officers found a man dead from apparent gunshot wounds on the front lawn of 115 Allen Ave., police said. 

The investigation is ongoing, police said. Huertas’ family has been notified, Mennone stated.
