Meriden police recover bullets fired into two homes Monday night

MERIDEN — Police are investigating three incidents of gunshots Monday night, including two where bullets where shots were fired into homes, police said.

There were no reported injuries.   

The first incident was reported around 8:05 p.m. Police recovered two shell casings at the intersection of Pleasant  and Crescent streets, Sgt. Michael Boothroyd said. Witnesses reported hearing about eight gunshots.   

About three minutes later police responded to 27 Harrison St. for a report of multiple gunshots, Boothroyd said. Officers discovered bullets had been fired into an apartment while a family was home. Police found bullets lodged in the walls and three shell casings outside.   

Around 10:10 p.m. police responded to the area of 163 Atkins St. for another report of gunshots. Officers recovered two shell casings and noted a bullet went through the exterior wall of a home and was found on a couch in the living room, Boothroyd said. The residents reported hearing a noise outside and later found the bullet.
