MERIDEN — The city has set a date for its annual Fourth of July fireworks show.

The event will take place July 3, with a rain date of July 5. The fireworks will be shot off from East Peak in Hubbard Park beginning around 9:30 p.m.

Live entertainment will begin at the park bandshell at 5 p.m. The fireworks show costs the city $15,000, according to Parks and Recreation Director Chris Bourdon. The money is included in the $197.3 million 2019-20 budget adopted by the City Council this week.
