MERIDEN — A local man faces charges after police said he displayed a facsimile firearm during a robbery at CVS in May.
Andre Green, 29, of 900 Hanover Road, was charged Friday with first-degree robbery.
A suspect entered CVS, 839 E. Main St., on May 12 and displayed a facsimile firearm in his waistband to a clerk, said police spokesman Sgt. Darrin McKay. The clerk gave the suspect cash and he fled in a vehicle.
Police obtained a description of the vehicle and suspect from security video. On May 19, a detective driving in Meriden saw a vehicle that matched the description and noticed the driver, later identified as Green, matched the description as well, McKay said. The detective found a BB gun on the floor of the vehicle. Green was taken into custody on motor vehicle charges.
Police later obtained a warrant for Green in connection with the robbery.
His bond was set at $100,000.
