Tractor trailer driver charged after early morning crash on I-91 S in Meriden

MERIDEN — The driver of a tractor trailer was issued an infraction for violating hours of service rules after an early morning rollover crash on Interstate 91 by exit 18.

The driver, whose name was not released, was driving a tractor trailer on I-91 south in the center lane around midnight when he lost control and rolled over in the highway median, state police said. It was unclear if there were any injuries.

Police investigating determined the driver was operating a commercial vehicle in violation of the 11 and 14 hour rule for hours of service, state police said. The driver was also issued an infraction for failure to maintain proper lane.
