MERIDEN — A series of Record-Journal hosted virtual candidate forums continues Thursday on Facebook.

At 5 p.m., candidates in the running for City Council Area 4, incumbent Bob Williams and Kenneth Morgan, will answer questions on city and area wide issues.

At 6 p.m., incumbent Mayor Kevin Scarpati, his Republican challenger Elain Cariati and Independent Party challenger Ernestine Holloway will take on a series of questions regarding citywide issues.

At 7 p.m., a forum featuring candidates for two at-large City Council seats is scheduled. Incumbent Democrats Bruce A. Fontanella and Chad Cardillo will be joined by their Republican and We The People-endorsed opponents Dan Zaborowski and Ray Ouellet, along with Independent Party candidates Holloway and Pedro Valentin.

Visit the Record-Journal’s Facebook page to view the forums in real time. Members of the public who tune in live can submit questions for possible inclusion during the forums. Questions will be reviewed by Record-Journal staff before being posed to candidates. Those questions should be issues focused. Questions that include personal attacks against a particular candidate will not be accepted.

All forums will be recorded and available for on demand viewing on the Record-Journal’s Facebook page. The first forum, for City Council Area 3, was held Wednesday can be viewed now.
