MERIDEN— We’re looking at relatively warm weather and sunny days leading up to the first day of Fall in four days. Here’s what to expect in the forecast this week according to the National Weather Service.

Temperature Trends:

For many of the days this week we will be seeing sunny skies and temperatures in the low to mid 70s during the day and dropping to the 40s & 50s overnight. 

Will we get any precipitation?

There is no precipitation predicted from Tuesday to Friday. 

Saturday, which is the first day of Fall, will be mostly cloudy during the day with a 40% chance of precipitation during the evening.

Sunday there is a 30% chance of precipitation during the day as well as the evening.

Will it be windy?

Tuesday may contain west wind 8 to 10 mph during the day and west wind 5 to 7 mph during the evening.

Wednesday may contain northwest wind 5 to 8 mph during the day and northwest wind 3 to 5 mph during the evening. 

Thursday may contain north wind 5 to 7 mph during the day.

What should I wear?

Pull out your short sleeves for those few warm and sunny days, but definitely keep a jacket or a vest close. Keep your raincoat, rain boots and umbrella close if you plan to go out during the weekend.

Weekend Forecast:

At this moment, it looks like a relatively cloudy and wet weekend with highs in the upper 60s & lower 70s during the day and dropping to the mid to upper 50s at night.
