MERIDEN — One person was shot in the chest and a second was shot in the arm during a double shooting earlier this week.

Police received two separate reports of gunshot victims minutes apart about 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, police spokesman Sgt. Darrin McKay said in a statement. One of the calls came from 167 Lewis Ave. and the other from MidState Medical Center, 435 Lewis Ave.

One victim had already been taken to MidState and the second victim was taken from 167 Lewis Ave. to Hartford Hospital, McKay said. According to a report the person that was taken to Hartford Hospital was shot in the chest and the other person at Mid State Medical Center was shot in the arm. Police did not provide an update on the condition of the victims.

Police determined the two incidents are related, McKay said. A suspect reportedly left in a black Acura Integra.
