Things to know this week include the start of the application review process for ARPA funding in Wallingford, and continued applications for funding in Meriden.

Also in Meriden, the city will present plans for aquatic habitat restoration in Hubbard Park.

Here’s your complete list of seven things to know as you start your week.

The ARPA Application Review Committee will begin hearing applications for funding this week. The panel is scheduled to meet Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the HUBCAP, 128 Center St. Meetings are open to the public. The applicants are as follows:

Monday: Amy Cakes; A Place For Healing; Alyssa’s Cakery; A & F Cafe; Banana’s Ice Cream.

Tuesday: Archie Moore’s Restaurant; Academy Di Capelli; BiolumenEssence; Barans Kenpo Karate.

Wednesday: Wallingford Public Library Association; Church of the Nazarene Food Pantry (United Way sponsor); Lyman Hall Music Parents Association; Columbus House Inc.

The Meriden American Rescue Plan Committee will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in Room 206, Council Chambers. The committee will hear presentation for ARPA funding from Girls Inc., Meriden Inn, South Meriden Baseball, and the golf course. The meeting will be held in person and online. You can access the meeting by following the instructions posted at the top of the city’s website, https://www.meridenct.gov.

The Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission will meet Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 6:30 p.m. in the engineering conference room, Room 28 of City Hall, 142 East Main St. The agenda includes an application by the city for Hubbard Park “lower pond aquatic habitat restoration and maintenance, dredging project.” Also on the agenda is a city application for “Baldwin’s Pond proposed aquatic plant management program.”

The housing authority board plans to meet on Tuesday, Jan. 31 for a special meeting. The housing authority oversees public housing in Southington.

Its agenda includes reports on electric price increases by the executive director, the tenant responsibilities notice and the profit and loss statements from previous months.

The meeting is planned for 43 Academy Road at 5 p.m. on Jan. 31.

Southington’s open space committee is also scheduled to meet on Thursday, Feb. 2. It’ll discuss property maintenance, the Grosky Barn and property acquisition matters in executive session.

The meeting is planned for 4 p.m. at Town Hall, 75 Main St.

The Board of Education will hold its third budget meeting on Monday at 6 p.m. via Google Meet. The board will continue going through the overall strategic plan, starting with food services. The public can watch the meetings through the district’s YouTube account.

The Town Beautification Committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. in Room 207/209 of Town Hall. The agenda includes a sign permit review for the Coder School, 100 Elm St. and the following: Street Trees; Parklet & Pollinators; Budget 2023-2024; and Workplan for 2023-2024.
