One-car accident on Old Colony Road in Meriden

MERIDEN — Two occupants of a car that collided with a utility pole on Old Colony Road were seriously injured Saturday night.

Meriden Fire Chief Kenneth Morgan said emergency crews found one occupant ejected from the vehicle and a second in cardiac arrest inside. Further details were not available.

The incident occurred near 871 Old Colony Road at approximately 10:21 p.m. when a vehicle crashed into a pole, causing the wires to pull down adjacent poles.
