MERIDEN — Police said one person was lifted by Life Star helicopter to Hartford Hospital after a motor vehicle crash on North Colony Road Tuesday afternoon.

The accident happened shortly after 1 p.m. at 1630 N. Colony Road, in the parking lot of Kuhn Employment Opportunities, Inc.

Police received a call reporting a car that had been driven off road, before coming to a stop — pinned between two vans — in the parking lot. Fire crews and a tow company also responded to the accident. Police would remain on scene for at least two hours Tuesday afternoon.

Police did not identify the driver involved. According to early reports, the individual appeared to have suffered a head injury. Other details surrounding the crash, which police said was still under investigation, were not available Tuesday evening.
