MERIDEN — Eleven people remained displaced Monday following a house fire Sunday evening on Jackson Street.

Meriden fire crews responded to a reported house fire with a possible party trapped around 7:38 p.m. Sunday, at 8 Jackson St. One person was rescued from a rear fire escape and no serious injures were reported, according to fire officials.

Fire officials said 11 people and several pets were displaced from the home.

The one alarm fire started in a second floor apartment and spread to the attic, causing significant smoke and water damage, according to fire officials. The same house had an attic fire in 2015.

Meriden Engines 4, 3, 2, and Truck 1 and Car 3 were dispatched.
