MERIDEN — Motorists driving along I-91 south on the evening of Valentine’s Day saw their travels come to a halt, following a reported crash that involved multiple vehicles.
The crash was reported around 7:20 p.m. Friday near exit 18. It was not immediately clear how many vehicles had been involved or whether there had been any injuries to any of the vehicles’ occupants.
State Police Troop I responded to the scene. Fire crews from Meriden also responded. The accident resulted in temporary lane closures as crews worked to remove involved vehicles from the scene. At least two vehicles, one of which had significant front-end damage, had been loaded onto flatbed tow trucks. Those travel lanes reopened less than an hour later.
