Meriden man injured, dog killed when car crashes into bedroom on Yale Avenue

MERIDEN — A man asleep in his bedroom was injured late Friday night when a car crashed into his house on Yale Avenue.

The man, who police did not identify, was listed in stable condition at Hartford Hospital Saturday morning. A dog who was in the bedroom died in the incident, which occurred around 11:45 p.m.

The driver of the White Chevrolet Equinox that crashed into 365 Yale Ave., 40-year-old Stephanie Lancaster, was taken to Hartford Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The Meriden resident was driving west near the intersection of Yale Avenue and Miller Avenue when the vehicle left the road, went airborne, struck a vehicle at 373 Yale Ave. and continued into the home at 365 Yale Ave., penetrating about halfway into the bedroom, police said.
