Each year, the North Haven Garden Club invites public participation for its annual Beautification Awards. The club looks primarily for gardens in the front of local properties demonstrating color coordination, organization, design and plant arrangement. The club then awards private and business properties for their gardening and beautification efforts.

In August, members of the North Haven Garden Club Beautification Committee visited 11 local properties. And this fall, the winners were notified. Awards went to George O'Donnell, Christine Parisella, Deb Mendillo, James and Andrea Salemme, and Peter and Rose Civitello. Honorable mention certificates went to Susan Zurlis and Zofia Linek. 

The North Haven Garden Club is a member of The Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut Inc., New England Garden Clubs Inc., and The National Garden Clubs Inc.
