Each year, Connecticut students in grades four and five are invited to participate in a fire prevention poster contest, the goal being to promote a joint education effort between schools and the fire service.
The North Haven Fire Department’s administrative staff selected two posters – one from a fourth-grader, one from a fifth-grader – and submitted the works for consideration in the state-wide competition. The NHFD also picked runners-up.
The local artists were presented with a certificate of recognition and a gift card care of the NHFD.
