Iron Bond Fitness to host Nov. 5 open house

Husband and wife Brad and Jenna March have taken their gym Iron Bond Fitness to the next level. Over the summer, the couple moved the business from Hamden to a bigger – more aesthetically pleasing – location on Dodge Avenue in North Haven. “It’s more centralized for our clients, who come from all over. And we believe North Haven is an awesome community, and the location is perfect for us," said Jenna March.

“This place is twice the size of our old space in Hamden."

Iron Bond Fitness' new home has that industrial look many gym-owners would envy: garage door, exposed ceiling beams, cement walls.

Jenna March said buildings such as this rarely come on the market, and moving in was a dream come true.

The Marchs run the gym side-by-side. “Brad does the business end of things while I do the fitness part,” said Jenna, who once trained clients in a space she bartered for, an office basement in North Haven, before setting up shop in Hamden.

The Marchs married two years ago and reside in North Branford.

Brad March said he's seen many gyms go out of businesses since the onset of COVID-19 in 2020.

“Gyms fought for as long as they could, but with their financials, they couldn’t keep up and lost their clientele,” he said.

With Iron Bond Fitness, Brad said he's looking forward to connecting with other small local businesses and with the community as a whole.

On Saturday, Nov. 5, from 8 to 10 a.m., the gym will host an open house, featuring a breakfast spread and raffles. Also, attendees can try a 25-minute workout.

“We just want to celebrate that we’re here, as it's a miracle in itself, especially after the pandemic,” Jenna March said.

Iron Bond Fitness is located at 27 Dodge Ave. For more information, visit ironbondfitness.com or call 203-927-8702.
