Letters to the Editor

(The deadline for Letters to the Editor concerning the upcoming election has passed.)

Effective leader

Editor:

Lifelong North Haven resident and attorney Sally Buemi has the experience and preparation to earn your vote to serve another term on the Board of Selectmen. Sally works well with Mike Freda, offering up new ideas and pointing out where mistakes were made. She loves North Haven and prides herself on keeping citizens informed. Sally has been the most effective representative in her role as “Third” Selectman in my 25 years in town.

Reelect Buemi

Editor:

I am writing to endorse Sally Buemi for the Board of Selectmen. I have known Sally for 40 years. She has always been passionate about the town and its citizens. She is a lifelong resident who has brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to this position, which she has held for eight years. Sally is a former member of the Board of Finance and is a well-respected attorney with a practice right here in North Haven. I am encouraging everyone to get out and vote to reelect Sally Buemi.

Deborah Wingreen

Fresh ideas

Editor:

What we do on Nov. 2 is the most important task before us. We're at a big moment. This election will decide which direction our town goes into the future. Post-pandemic North Haven can rise to new heights and become the sort of place that uplifts everyone. But we need leadership on the Board of Selectmen that, as a team, has a shared vision for the future. Four candidates are running for seats on the board; the top three vote-getters will serve this great town. I will represent all voices and can bring a new perspective to the board. I would like your vote.

Carl Kordek,
Democratic candidate
for First Selectman

Idealbackground

Editor:

Eleven years ago Frederick Rodriguez and family moved to North Haven because of the town’s reputation for excellence in education.

Frederick is heavily invested in North Haven, believing a Board of Education member must have experience and knowledge of security policies.

He has advanced degrees in cyber policy and physical security. His Yale School of Medicine work, being a member of a Yale diversity group and serving on the North Haven PTA is an ideal background for the Board of Education.

Maureen F. Cunningham

Fair and honest

Editor:

I have known Sally Buemi for nine years. For the last eight, I have followed her service on the Board of Selectmen. I have found, by reading her “I Was Just Thinking” newspaper column and from her contributions during town meetings, that she always has the best interests of our citizens in her heart. I know her to be a generous, trustworthy, fair and an honest person.

I would ask all citizens of North Haven to vote for her in November so that we can keep her on the Board of Selectmen.

Sharon McGourn
