NORTH HAVEN — A man faces charges after police said he tried to break into a local business in April.
Sean Deeb, 21, of 21 Jodie Lane, Shelton, was charged Sunday with criminal attempt to commit third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief.
On April 27 the owner of Vinny the Taper, 59 Old Broadway, reported that his security cameras caught a suspect drive up in a pickup truck and attempt to pry open a door to the business, according to Deeb’s arrest warrant. After failing to open the door, the suspect drove away.
Police identified Deeb as a suspect based on information from another worker at the business, the warrant said.
Deeb was arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on Monday. According to statements in court, he has a pending case involving a fifth-degree larceny charge. The judge released him on a promise to appear in court on Jan. 15.
