Help restock food pantry shelves Jan. 14

The North Haven Lions need your help to restock the food pantries. Stop by our Second Saturday Service event Saturday, Jan. 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at North Haven Congregational Church, 28 Church St.

We are collecting non-perishable food, as well as dog and cat food, pet treats and supplies, and old eyeglasses. Also, the North Haven Leos will be there to accept your recyclable bottles and cans.

Donations will help restock the local food pantries, provide supplies to Fidelco guide dogs and The Animal Haven, and support the Lions Recycle for Sight Program and Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation. The following items are in most need: Parmalat milk, juice, canned fruit, jelly, mayonnaise (30 oz.), coffee, pasta sauce (24 oz. jars), rice, dried/canned beans and baked beans, Milk-Bone dog biscuits, blankets and towels.

The North Haven Lions have served our town since 1952. Through Second Saturday activities, the Lions engage in service projects for our community. For more information about Lions' service activities, or to be part of something meaningful, contact North Haven Lions Club President Jim Bennett at
